Kovalam is a beach town on the Arabian sea in kerala around 16
kms outside Trivandrum city, the capital of God's Own Country. Comprising of three crescent shaped beaches seperated by rocky outcroppings, the larger of the beaches is called the light house beach. Another beach named Hawah Beach - the first topless
beach in India got its name from the topless European
women and the act is banned now. Kovalam emerged as the most prominent tourist spot in India during the
hippy era.
